Formed in August 2004, East Providence Community Theatre is a non-profit theatre company formed to enrich the City of East Providence and its surrounding communities in the areas of the performing arts, including theatre, music, and dance.

The group was formed by performing and fine arts graduates of East Providence High School's classes of 2003 and 2004, many of whom still sit on the Board of Directors for EPCT, and have gone on to recieve bachelor's degrees in the arts. Their motivation for forming the theatre was prompted by the city's strong talent pool, and the love of performing that they found during their high school career.
